West Bengal to close 250 private madrasas with low enrolment by December
What happened
The state cabinet has agreed in principle to shut 250 government-recognised private madrasas that lack infrastructure and have few students. Classes will continue until December. It also cleared recruitment of about 1.51 lakh government personnel.
Why it may matter
- This is time-bound — there is an application or deadline involved, so check the dates before they pass.
- More places or more money than before.
- Useful if you are trying to find an internship or get a job.
