Mandela Washington Fellowship 2027 opens for young African leaders

What happened

Applications are open until October 13, 2026. About 550 selected fellows spend six weeks at a U.S. college or university in summer 2027. Applicants are usually 25 to 35 and must live in an eligible African country.

Why it may matter

• This is time-bound — there is an application or deadline involved, so check the dates before they pass.
• More places or more money than before.
• Useful if you are trying to explore opportunities.
• Affects students in the US.
