What happened

South African students with over 70% average and financial need can apply for 2027 funding in science, technology, engineering, accounting, maths, humanities, music or law. Applications close 16 October 2026.

Why it may matter

• This is time-bound — there is an application or deadline involved, so check the dates before they pass.
• Approved, so it is now going ahead rather than being proposed.
• Useful if you are trying to explore opportunities.
