Three US universities offer fully funded PhD places with September 30 deadline

What happened

Louisiana State, North Texas and Vermont are recruiting PhD researchers in environmental science, biology and fisheries. Funding ranges from $26,400 to $37,000 a year, and applications close September 30, 2026.

Why it may matter

• This is time-bound — there is an application or deadline involved, so check the dates before they pass.
• Something has closed. If you were relying on it, you need an alternative.
• Useful if you are trying to find an internship or explore opportunities.
• Affects students in the US.
