Kenyan universities tighten dress codes as calls grow for national rules

What happened

Moi University's September 22, 2026 directive bans mini-skirts, tight trousers and ripped jeans, and staff must not serve students dressed against the rules. Similar codes apply at MMUST, Eldoret, Egerton, Kabianga, Kaimosi, TUM and Alupe.
