Water shortage hits Satara-Deolai as wells run dry, residents protest for supply

What happened

Around 300 to 400 residents staged a three-hour sit-in in Deolai, saying wells and borewells have dried up after scanty rainfall. The city is running 84 water tankers while a ₹2,740-crore supply project moves slowly.
