WHO-UNICEF report: 50 million Indian children had no school sanitation in 2025

What happened

India improved school drinking water, with about 12 million children still lacking it in 2025. Sanitation remains the biggest gap, though schools without it fell 14 per cent over the period studied. About 20 million children lacked hygiene services.
