Yale Young African Scholars 2027 opens for African secondary school students

What happened

Applications close 20 January 2027. The free online College Prep Workshop takes about 240 students; the nine-day Residential Leadership Summit takes about 110 and covers housing, meals and materials. Applicants must be 14 to 18 on 15 July 2027.

Why it may matter

• This is time-bound — there is an application or deadline involved, so check the dates before they pass.
• Approved, so it is now going ahead rather than being proposed.
• Useful if you are trying to explore opportunities.
