Exam cheating made up 93% of university discipline cases in Kenya in 2025

What happened

Kenyan universities recorded 3,017 student discipline cases in 2025, and 2,803 involved exam irregularities. Public universities expelled 9.6% of cases, private ones 0.5%. Cases peaked in June and September, during exams.
