City of Johannesburg opens 200 bursaries for 2027 undergraduate study

What happened

South African youth who permanently live in Johannesburg can apply for the 2027 academic year. Each bursary is capped at R40,000 a year for tuition, registration and books. Applications close on 30 October 2026.
