NSP 2026-27 lets students hold merit and welfare scholarships at the same time

What happened

The National Scholarship Portal has replaced One Student-One Scholarship with One Student-Multiple Scholarships. An eligible student can now get one merit award plus one or more welfare scholarships if each scheme's conditions are met.

Why it may matter

• This is time-bound — there is an application or deadline involved, so check the dates before they pass.
• Evidence rather than policy — useful for understanding a trend.
• Useful if you are trying to find an internship or get a job.
